EMC ECS

Successfull implementation of an EMC ECS environment requires the following tasks included in our implementation package for ECS:

  • Gathering of all information for EMC forms
  • Coordination of EMC customer service installation with the customer
  • Verification of installation and notification to EMC
  • Configuration of all settings and features
  • Creation of buckets and users
  • Support when configuring the archive application
  • Monitoring of systems during initial phase of operation

EMC Isilon

Successfull implementation of an EMC Isilon environment requires the following tasks included in our implementation package for Isilon:

  • Gathering all informatio for EMC installation forms
  • Coordination between EMC customer service and the customer for installation
  • Verification of installation and notification to EMC
  • Configuration o of all settings and features
  • Initial configuration of shares, syncronization and snapshots

Monitoring & Planing

During the operations phase of storage systems, they must be monitored and changes planned to ensure smooth operations. Controlling all ciritical limits and the estimation when these will be reached is realized by the automated verification of all relevant parameters.

EMC ECS

Monitoring of ECS systems was developed in 2017 with the following daily checks. In combination with the proactive reporting, monitored systems are under full control.
Critical events are automatically propagated to the customer so that a quick reaction is possible to prevent application issues.

Data Domain

Migration

When a system is reaching the end of its lifecycle it is typically replaced with a new one. The existing data must be migrated with minimal downtime and without migration throught the application.

Migrations between different storage systems are available too. The migration path and effort is dependant on the applications in use and the environment. Please get in touch with us in such a situation.

EMC ECS

Informatio offers a Centera-to-ECS Migration Service for already archived date.

Migration Workshop

In order to be able to offer a migration, a workshop has to be carried out in which the various possibilities of migration are analyzed. The migration paths are compared with regard to application switching, possible performance problems, migration duration and other restrictions.

Based on the application landscape and the existing pools, the actual situation is recorded for each environment and a migration path is defined. This information is necessary to create a migration offer.

Migration ECS nativ

Migrating using the migration option contained in ECS is possible for smaller environments. An ECS migration of all pools to be migrated is included in this service. The migration is offered at a flat rate.

Migration ECS-Sync

The migration with ECS sync is based on a VM for each pool to be migrated. Parallelization is possible if several pools exist. The migration is offered by the number of pools and the data volume.

Migration DTS-MSC

With DTS-MSC (Datatrust Solutions Migration Software for Centera) a parallel migration on a pool basis is possible. Multiple VMs can be used to migrate a large amount of data from a pool in parallel. The scheduling functionality allows the load to be controlled as required. The migration is offered by the number of pools and the data volume.

NetApp

Migrations of NetApp systems are delivered by working with other NetApp partners who have the necessary experience and skills.

EMC Isilon

Migrations of EMC Isilon systems are realized by integrating new nodes into the cluster and copying the existing data internally. During this period it is important to follow the utilization, performance and jobs very closely.

EMC Centera

Migrations of EMC Centera systems to new systems are performed by Informatio on a regular basis.Complex environments with many applications or large data volumes are supported and the necessary experience and skill are available.

Centera functionality ensures that existing data is copied without the possiblity of data manipulations. A migration path is chosen to minimize the application downtime for the switch to the new infrastructure.

Detailed validation options to ensure all existing and referenced information is copied are available.

Erasure

After a migration prior to returning an existing system, compliance and governance requlations may require that all existing data is securely erased from the system.
